Bio
Craig McClure is a contemporary visual artist and muralist based in Kirikiriroa | Hamilton, New Zealand. Originally from Scotland, Craig’s artistic journey began with studies at the Joe Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Art, New Jersey, USA, and later at the Waikato Institute of Technology, where he earned a Bachelor of Media Arts with Honours.
Craig has over a decade of experience working in the New Zealand arts scene, specialising in large-scale public art, murals, and visual storytelling. His creative work spans illustration, exhibition installations and mural design, with a focus on community engagement and place-based art. Craig is also the director of Lighthouse Creative Productions, overseeing mural projects and collaborative exhibitions across the country.
Known for his unique ability to blend narrative-driven artwork with contemporary painting techniques, Craig has contributed to major projects including the Boon Street Art Festival, which he helped expand into one of Aotearoa's premier mural events. His works are exhibited both locally and internationally, featured in private and public collections.
Craig is passionate about using art to connect communities and transform public spaces. He is available for mural commissions, festival collaborations, and artistic consultation across New Zealand.
